Welcome! The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department is responsible for the development, management and display of location-based information pertaining to Bedford County and the Town of Bedford.
With this information, GIS staff is able to develop applications, perform simple to complex analyses, and generate customized maps and data products which allow the end user to view important
information related to an area of interest, and, more importantly, to make better informed decisions.
Examples of this geographic information includes Land Records, Transportation data, Voting Information, School Locations and Attendance Zones, Zoning and Land Use, and multiple years of Aerial Imagery. Much of this information is easily accessible to the public with the County's Public GIS Viewer..
