People who come in contact with the different services provided by the Bedford County Department of Social Services have many faces and stories. Be it an adult who receives help locating home based services that allow her to stay in her own home rather than moving to a nursing home, the child who is now attending school successfully and no longer at risk of dropping out, a family who has food on the table as a result of obtaining an electronic debit card for food, or the one who now has health insurance, all have names, faces, and real life problems that confront them each and every day.
The staff of Bedford Social Services meet these diverse social problems on a daily basis. Many of these situations are complicated and could not be solved without the good interagency collaboration maintained in the Bedford Community and with other public/private partners. The Department strives to offer quality customer service to the citizens of Bedford County through dedication and commitment to service, to promote efficient, effective and responsible public service while always respecting human dignity.
