Change in commencement time of Board of Supervisor's Meetings  In accordance with the action taken by the Board of Supervisors at its organizational meeting, notice is hereby given that the starting time of the regular session of Board meetings is being changed from 7:30 to 7:00 p.m. commencing with the Board’s meeting on Monday the 23rd day of February 2015.

Bedford County Planning Commission Notice of Public Hearing Notice has been given that the Bedford County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on March 3, 2015 at 7 pm for the proposed update to the Bedford County 2025 Comprehensive Plan as part of a 5 year update of the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2007.

Bedford County begins Coyote Lottery Nov. 1  The Agricultural Economic Development Advisory board is beginning its third annual Coyote Lottery Nov. 1, 2014. Entries accepted at Southern States until March 13, 2015. Participants entered may win up to $2,000.

Bedford County hosts second annual Ag Expo  The Bedford County Agricultural Economic Development Advisory Board in partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension will host its 2nd Annual Agriculture Conference and Expo on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Bedford campus of Central Virginia Community College.

The Expo is being planned for the county’s agriculture community and brings local stakeholders together to support this thriving part of the local economy. This year’s conference theme will cover several different aspects of farm safety, including proper animal handling, food safety and bio-security. Included in the event will be an “Ag Forum” of local, state, and federal representatives who have been invited to discuss recent agriculture-related policies and developments. This event is free and includes lunch for those who register in advance.
