Please take notice that the Bedford County Board of Supervisors has called a Special Meeting of the Board in addition to the Broadband Authority meeting and the Joint Work Session with the Planning Commission on May 14, 2018. The Broadband Authority meeting will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by the Joint Work Session. The Special Meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, at which time three public hearings will be held:
- Rezoning Application #RZ180006, request to reclassify the zoning designation of a 1.5-acre portion of a 10.12-acre parcel, Tax Map Number 86-A-43 from AP (Agricultural/Rural Preserve) to C-2 (General Commercial). The applicant has proposed to utilized a portion of the parcel to establish an “Automobile Repair Services, Minor” use on the existing residential garage on the property
- Amending Sections 30-47-6, 30-57-7, 30-63-7 & 30-67-6 of the Bedford County Zoning Ordinance to allow a planned unit development master plan amendment to proceed through administrative and/or public hearing after sixty (60 days) if the owner of the master plan has failed to authorize or deny an amendment request by the property owner within a planned unit development.
- Rezoning Application #RZ060004 is to amend the master plan associated with the Thomas Jefferson Crossing (major revision), a PD-1 district development. Section 30-67-6 of the Bedford County Zoning Ordinance requires a major amendment to an approved master plan in a PD-1 district follow Section 30-67-5 Application Process (Rezoning application process for PD-1 district). The applicant is requesting to amend the proposed use(s) for Tax Map Number 117-A-128 (4.33 acres in size, zoned PD-1), located in “Commercial Area Three” on the master plan. The subject property was planned for commercial use(s) with the option of having 20 residential units above the commercial use(s) on the approved master plan. The applicant is not proposing to change the current zoning of the subject property (PD-1) with this request.
The public hearings will be followed by an action item for the adoption of the FY218-19 budget.
All meetings will be held in Boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA.
