Recreation Advisory Board

The Recreation Advisory Board is established and empowered to review and advise upon existing and develop new proposed programs, policies, fees, and procedures deemed appropriate for the equitable, efficient and effective coordination and delivery of sports, athletics and other recreational opportunities for citizens of Bedford County of all ages. The Board is advisory in nature and its findings and recommendations are implemented in cooperation with and at the discretion of the Bedford County Department of Parks & Recreation and the Board of Supervisors.

There are seven members on the Recreation Advisory Board. Each member is appointed by their respective Supervisor.

The Recreation Advisory Board meets at least four times a year at the Parks and Recreation office (1257 County Farm Road, Bedford).

Board of Supervisors – Worksession - REVISED Agenda & Packet Now Posted

Board of Supervisors meetings are held in the Boardroom located on the top floor of the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA.

  • Event Intro The Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise noted). Worksessions begin at 5:00 pm and regular meetings begin at 7:00 pm.

Revised agenda materials now include added documentation for the worksession’s budget discussion, Consent agenda items #6a and 6b, and the minutes for 03.10.2026.

If you do not wish to attend the regular meeting in person but would like to submit a comment for the citizen comment period or the public hearings, you may do so by emailing your comment. Emailed comments must be received by noon on the day of the meeting. (Emailed comments are not read aloud during the meeting but are given to the Board for their consideration prior to the start of the meeting.).
