Volunteers play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the Memorial. Through the time and commitment of Volunteers, the Foundation is able to provide a memorable experience for visitors. The National D-Day Memorial offers an array of volunteer opportunities. Current opportunities for volunteers include:

• Tour Guides
• Gate Attendants/Greeters
• Educational Program Assistants
• Gift Shop Attendants
• Student Volunteers
• Research Assistants
• Interns

Volunteers typically commit to serve a minimum of 50 hours of service per year by volunteering at least one shift (4 hours) per month. All volunteers serve a probationary period consisting of 25 hours of service before they become vested with the foundation. Annual Volunteer training is held each year in late February for all current volunteers and also for prospective volunteers who wish to learn more. Additional training may be necessary for some volunteer positions.

If you are interested in sharing your time, energy, and knowledge in support of the National D-Day Memorial or would like additional information on volunteer opportunities, please call 540-587-3619.
