Public Notice: Please take notice that the Bedford County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a Work Session with VDOT on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 5:00 pm. This Work Session will be held in addition to the Regular Meeting already scheduled for that same evening at 7:00 pm. Both the Work Session and the Regular Meeting will be held in the Boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office located at 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA. The purpose of the Work Session will be to discuss road priorities.
Also, a Regular Meeting has been scheduled on June 10, 2019 at 7:00 pm. The Regular Meeting will be held in addition to the Work Session already scheduled for that same evening at 5:00 pm. Both the Work Session and the Regular Meeting will be held in the Boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office located at 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA. The Regular Meeting was scheduled primarily to adopt the FY2019-20 budget; however, other items will likely be added to the Regular Meeting’s agenda as needed.
IMPORTANT UPCOMING ELECTION INFORMATION: All Bedford County Voting precincts will have a Republican Primary to select a candidate for Sheriff. Voting precincts in the 23rd House District will also select a candidate for the House of Delegates.
If you are not already registered to vote, Virginians must apply to register to vote (or update their registration name and current address) NO LATER THAN MAY 20, 2019.
For the convenience of registered voters who need to vote by absentee ballot, your Voter Registration Office will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on June 8, 2019, in addition to normal business hours. Requests for Absentee Ballots by mail may be made no later than 5:00 pm on June 4, 2019.
If you are currently registered to vote, you do not need to re-register unless you have made a change to your address or name in which case you need to notify the Registrar in writing. You may also update your voter registration information on-line at the Department of Elections website at www.elections.virginia.gov.

Responsible for the implementation of health related programs, services, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) which promote, enhance, and maintain resident health and independence. Complies with established policies and procedures to perform responsible professional and human support activities in the care of nursing facility residents. Responsible for supervising Certified Nursing Assistants. Receives general supervision and direction from the Director of Nurses.
Minimum Requirements Include:
Requires graduation from an accredited school of licensed practical nursing.
Must possess a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
Requires general knowledge of nursing techniques and their relationship to medical practices
General knowledge of sanitation, hygiene, and medical treatment
Ability to apply therapeutic treatment and follow written instructions
Ability to keep records and complete reports
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, and other professional personnel
Ability to supervise others
Alertness, agility, physical stamina and physical condition sufficient to assigned tasks
Heavy work requiring the exertions of 100 pounds of force occasionally up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
This position is designated as essential personnel and requires overtime, weekend, and holiday work as defined by the needs of the department.
Preferred Experience includes:
Long term care experience preferred.
