IMPORTANT UPCOMING ELECTION INFORMATION: All Bedford County Voting precincts will have a Republican Primary to select a candidate for Sheriff. Voting precincts in the 23rd House District will also select a candidate for the House of Delegates.

If you are not already registered to vote, Virginians must apply to register to vote (or update their registration name and current address) NO LATER THAN MAY 20, 2019.

For the convenience of registered voters who need to vote by absentee ballot, your Voter Registration Office will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on June 8, 2019, in addition to normal business hours. Requests for Absentee Ballots by mail may be made no later than 5:00 pm on June 4, 2019.

If you are currently registered to vote, you do not need to re-register unless you have made a change to your address or name in which case you need to notify the Registrar in writing. You may also update your voter registration information on-line at the Department of Elections website at www.elections.virginia.gov.

The Bedford Welcome Center provides a place for visitors and citizens alike to learn about the many points of interest and benefits offered in and around the Bedford Area.  If you are looking for a unique volunteer opportunity where you can meet other local residents and help with welcoming visitors from all over the world to Bedford, consider joining us at the Bedford Welcome Center.

The Welcome Center is open seven days a week and volunteers typically commit to serve a minimum of 50 hours of service per year by volunteering at least one shift (4 hours) per month.
