Public Notice: The Chairman of the Bedford County Board of Supervisors has called a Special Meeting for Friday, the 21st day of December 2018 commencing at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the County Administration Building located at 122 East Main Street, Bedford, Virginia 24523.

The purpose of the meeting is to hold a closed session pursuant to Section 2.2-3711 (A)(1) as to the discussion, consideration, or interviews of prospective candidates for employment; assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of any public body; specifically, to discuss the County Administrator position; and to take action in open session, if necessary.

Meeting Cancellations: 

  • Bedford County Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 18, 2018 has been cancelled
  • Bedford County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting for Wednesday, December 26, 2018 has been cancelled
  • The three public hearings as to zoning and subdivision text amendments, originally scheduled for Mon Dec 10 will be heard at the Board's next regularly scheduled meeting which will be on Monday, Jan 14th at 7:00pm.

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a master schedule for CNA and nursing staff. Responsibilities include ensuring an adequate number of staff is on premise for any given day and time. Duties related to health care, services, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) may be required.


Minimum Requirements Include:

  • Nurse Aide Certification from the Virginia Board of Professions or graduation from an accredited school of licensed practical nursing. Employee will be responsible for keeping certification or license current.

  • Ability to work in a traditional CNA role at various times to maintain skill level as directed

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of staff scheduling

  • Kronos or other on-line timekeeping system

  • OnShift or other on-line scheduling system

  • Proficiency in utilizing computers and computer based systems

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Time management

  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Experience includes:

  • Long term care experience of 1-2 years
