IMPORTANT UPCOMING ELECTION INFORMATION: All Bedford County Voting precincts will have a Republican Primary to select a candidate for Sheriff. Voting precincts in the 23rd House District will also select a candidate for the House of Delegates.

If you are not already registered to vote, Virginians must apply to register to vote (or update their registration name and current address) NO LATER THAN MAY 20, 2019.

For the convenience of registered voters who need to vote by absentee ballot, your Voter Registration Office will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on June 8, 2019, in addition to normal business hours. Requests for Absentee Ballots by mail may be made no later than 5:00 pm on June 4, 2019.

If you are currently registered to vote, you do not need to re-register unless you have made a change to your address or name in which case you need to notify the Registrar in writing. You may also update your voter registration information on-line at the Department of Elections website at

Variable – Flexibility is required to accommodate three shifts, seven days a week


The Registered Nurse / Quality Improvement & Continuing Education position plans and directs a comprehensive program of quality improvement and infection control and prevention. In addition, the position is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a community wide education and training program.


Minimum Requirements Include:

  • Graduate of a recognized school of nursing

  • Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of VA

  • 3-5 years of long term care leadership experience

  • Nursing assessment skills

  • Effective teaching practices

  • Advanced computer proficiency

Preferred Experience includes:

  • Background in quality assurance in long term care

  • Training in infection control and prevention practices in long term care

  • Infection Preventionist Certification
