Public Notice: The Bedford County Board of Supervisors has relocated its regular meeting scheduled for February 25th at 7:00 pm to the Peaks Room at Falling Creek Center, 1257 County Farm Road, Bedford, VA.  The 5:00 pm work session set for the same night was already scheduled to be held at this location and will be conducted in the Parks Room.

Description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing will coordinate the completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and resident care plans accurately according to Federal and State requirements with established timeframes. Will work collaboratively with residents, families, and staff to ensure quality care.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements Include:

  • Must possess a current license to practice as a licensed registered nurse issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Knowledge of principles, standards, practices, and techniques of professional nursing
  • Knowledge of reconciling narcotics and other medication
  • Knowledge of nursing medical services
  • Knowledge of documentation of pertinent medical information
  • Knowledge of assessment and notification of physician Director of Nurses and families of change of condition
  • Understanding of the MDS/RUGS process and reimbursement criteria
  • Understanding of ICD 10 coding
  • Understanding of MDS transmission, accurately reading and responding to validation reports
  • Knowledge of good assessment skills and basic computer skills
  • Requires the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Must have the ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and functions as an effective team member

    Preferred Experience includes:

  • Long term experience and MDS/Care planning experience
