Public Notice: The Bedford County Board of Supervisors has relocated its work session, scheduled for April 22nd at 5:00 pm, to Liberty Middle School’s cafeteria/auditorium, 1237 Lacey Putney Way, Bedford.

As advertised, VDOT’s public hearing beginning at 6:00 pm, and the Board’s regular meeting beginning at 7:00 pm (which will include the public hearing on the tax rate), are scheduled for that same evening and will also be held at this location.

Facilities Specialist – Nursing Home

1229 County Farm Road, Bedford, VA 24523


7:00am to 3:30pm with every other weekend. Some schedule variation as needed.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the functional duties associated with maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and presentable environment in and around the Nursing Home facility and grounds. Follows established guidelines to perform routine and specialized services related to the upkeep and repair of facility. Is knowledgeable of and correctly applies infection control, safety practices, and resident rights standards. Works in a collaborative environment and manner with all positions particularly facility management.


Minimum Requirements Include:

  • Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license, proof of insurance required to drive on County business, and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience includes:

  • Three (3) years of experience performing facilities custodial work in a heavy traffic environment.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Experience working in a health care environment preferred.
