RiverStreet Networks project area residents,
For the roughly half of the residents at the more than 3,000 addresses in parts of Huddleston, Lynch Station, Goode, and New London, County staff feels obligated to inform you that RiverStreet Networks (RSN), due to a variety of reasons, is undergoing significant project delays. As such, RiverStreet has requested and received from the Virginia DHCD Office of Broadband a project extension until June 2026. Bedford County has not agreed to any extension for RiverStreet’s contractual obligation. It is the County’s position that RiverStreet should honor its original project completion deadline of October 8, 2025.
Bedford County fully understands that these delays on RiverStreet’s part are frustrating and disappointing to residents who have been waiting not only months but years for broadband service. These delays are unacceptable. Please understand the County continues to do all it can to encourage RiverStreet to resume the work of burying fiber and connecting County residents. Bedford County has already completed several successful broadband projects with other internet service providers and will continue to insist that this project be completed as expeditiously and capably as possible.
Unfortunately, the County must direct all project delay and work resumption inquiries to RiverStreet Networks. You may do so at the following:
