2025 PSAP Answer Time 9-1-1 Lines
0-10 seconds: 95.37%
11-15 seconds: 3.05%
16-20 seconds: .82%
21-40 seconds: .67%
41-60 seconds: .08%
61-120 seconds: .01%
Answer time metric is part of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Standard for 9-1-1 Call Processing and is used as a performance benchmark, not a regulatory requirement. The answer time is measured from the moment the call arrives at Bedford Emergency Communications until two-way communication begins.
NENA Standards:
- 90% of all 9-1-1 calls shall be answered within 15 seconds.
- 95% of all 9-1-1 calls should be answered within 20 seconds.
2025 Calls for Service
These are calls for service entered in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system in 2025 that required a response by field personnel. These are not just phone calls as a call for service can account for several phone calls. Each entry represents an incident that required call processing, prioritization, dispatching, coordination, and documentation by communications staff.
