Here's what's happening in Bedford County this month:
Real Estate Tax Bills Arriving Soon
2026 real estate tax bills will be mailed next week.
What’s new this year:
- You will receive two separate bills:
- Spring bill – due June 5
- Fall bill – due December 5
- Previously, one bill with two coupons was mailed in the spring.
You can still pay the full amount with your spring bill. If you do, you will not receive a fall bill.

FY2027 Budget Public Hearing
The FY2027 budget is balanced with no tax increase and includes funding for:
- County operations
- Schools
- Capital projects & equipment
- Solid waste services
- Nursing home operations
Public Hearing: Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m.
Board Vote: Tuesday, May 26 at 7 p.m.

Closed:

- Gated waste collection centers
Open:
- Waste Management Facility
- Bedford Area Welcome Center
Summer Camps – Limited Spots Available
