In observance of Independence Day, Bedford County offices and services will operate on the following holiday schedule:

• Friday, July 3: All Bedford County government offices will be closed.
• Saturday, July 4: The Bedford County Waste Management Facility, gated waste convenience centers, and the Bedford County Animal Shelter will be closed.

The last day to register for Bedford County Parks & Recreation fall sports without a late fee is Friday, July 3.

Parks & Recreation will accept late registrations through Friday, July 10.

Bedford County’s New London Cannery will open for the season on Tuesday, July 7, with new hours.

Hours of operation are Tuesdays from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Thursdays from 2-6 p.m., and one Saturday per month:

• July 18
• August 15
• September 19
• October 17
• November 14
• December 12

Bedford County Parks & Recreation is hosting an upcoming event focused on our furry friends: Bark in the Park.

Come out to Falling Creek Park on Saturday, July 25, from 4-8 p.m., for live music, pet-themed activities and games, a pet photo booth, and more.

The event will benefit Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter and the Community Pet Coalition.

The Bedford County Board of Supervisors will have one meeting this month.

The board will meet on Tuesday, July 28. There will be a worksession at 5 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m.
