On July 6, 2026, Bedford County staff learned from affected subscribers that regional fixed wireless internet service provider (ISP) Seiontec Systems had announced it was ceasing operations. County leadership and staff immediately began working to assist Seiontec subscribers in identifying alternative internet service providers.

County staff has not only reached out to Seiontec to offer assistance in maintaining connectivity for its subscribers in both the short and long term, but has also contacted several ISPs with significant fiber networks in Bedford County to make them aware of the opportunity to serve a substantial number of potential new customers.
