Gov. Spanberger has announced that EcoFriendly Foods has been awarded $38,678 through the Agricultural & Forestry Industries Development (AFID) program to support roof replacement and electrical infrastructure upgrades at its Moneta facility. The improvements will enhance operational efficiency, expand meat processing capacity, and increase cold storage capabilities.

During its May 26, 2026, regular meeting, the Bedford County Board of Supervisors approved support for the grant application, acceptance of the funds, and appropriation of the grant award. The project is estimated to cost $58,017, with the AFID program requiring a local match of $17,839.
