Public Notice: The Bedford County Board of Supervisors has relocated its regular meeting scheduled for February 25th at 7:00 pm to the Peaks Room at Falling Creek Center, 1257 County Farm Road, Bedford, VA.  The 5:00 pm work session set for the same night was already scheduled to be held at this location and will be conducted in the Parks Room.

Invitations for Bids 

Sealed bids for the proposed "Corporate Park Drive Extension" will be received by Bedford County in the Ground Floor Meeting Room, 122 East Main Street, Bedford, VA, until 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018, and then publicly opened and read. This project includes roadway improvements in Bedford County.

This project shall be constructed in accordance with: the plans; the Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Specifications, dated 2016; the Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Standards, dated 2016; the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual, dated 2011 (rev. April 2015); the 2011 Edition of the MUTCD and Virginia Supplement; and the Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions and Special Provision Copied Notes in this contract.

Contract documents consisting of plans and specifications and bid proposal forms can be seen at the offices of Hurt & Proffitt, Inc., 2524 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501, 434-847-7796. A complete set of documents for the Project may be downloaded free of charge from: .

Printed plans and specifications for the above project may be obtained from Hurt & Proffitt, Inc.  No partial sets of Contract Documents will be provided. Contract Documents may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $200 per set.  Payment shall be sent to Hurt & Proffitt, Inc. and shall indicate if sender is a general contractor or other than a general contractor. Please include your complete street address with zip code for use for hand delivery, as well as your complete mailing address with zip code, to avoid delay in transmittals. An optional Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in the Main Floor Meeting Room, 122 East Main Street, Bedford, VA.
