PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: (We are sending out this notice due to the meeting having been moved since this public hearing was originally advertised.)

The Bedford County Board of Supervisors has moved the public hearing on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 7:00 p. m. to the auditorium of Liberty High School, 100 Liberty Minutemen Drive, Bedford, VA, to discuss the possible exchange of property between the County of Bedford, Virginia and the Bedford Regional Water Authority. Specifically, the County of Bedford will convey a portion of Tax Map No. 147-A-40 and all of Tax Map No. 147-A-40A located on Falling Creek Road in exchange for Tax Map No. 127B-1-17 located on McGhee Road from the Bedford Regional Water Authority.  For additional information please contact Patrick J. Skelley II, County Attorney at (540) 587-5699.  (This public hearing was originally scheduled to take place at the Bedford County Administration, but has been moved with the rest of the meeting to accommodate anticipated citizen attendance.).



PLEASE NOTE that the agenda item regarding the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County resolution will be heard at the regular meeting, which begins at 7:00 pm. Liberty High School Is A Gun Free Zone At All Times; No Guns Are Permitted On School Grounds Or In School Facilities.

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE: Per Sec. 2.2-3707 of the Virginia Code, this serves as notice that the Bedford County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Monday, December 16th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.  in the Jefferson Forest High School Auditorium, located near the entrance for the Jefferson  Forest High School football stadium, directly across Perrowville Road from the entrance to Forest Elementary School (located on Perrowville Road) in Forest, Virginia.  The purpose of this meeting is to consider the creation of a new zoning  district (Airport); Comprehensive Plan Amendment; Zoning text amendment for setbacks; rezoning of nine parcels to the Airport District; and a Special Review Project regarding the broadband initiative.

  • More than two members of the Bedford County Board of Supervisors may be in  attendance.

Bedford County provides numerous opportunities for involvement in local programs. A number of subcommittees, task forces, and working groups report to the standing committees responsible for policy direction and review, while others are established on an ad hoc basis to assist with specific projects.
