Public Notice: The Thaxton Convenience Center has relocated to 1191 Thaxton School Road and is open 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM daily. The old convenience center behind the Thaxton Market is PERMENANTLY CLOSED.

  • Please take notice the Board of Supervisors has added a Work Session on July 22, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 E. Main Street, Bedford, VA for an update and discussion regarding the Solid Waste Department.  (The Regular Meeting already scheduled for the same evening at 7:00 pm will still be held as well.)

The Bedford County Attorney is appointed by the Bedford County Board of Supervisors. The primary  responsibilities of the County Attorney is to provide legal advice for the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, staff and the many Bedford County Boards, Commissions and Boards on matters relating to Bedford County law, regulations, ordinances and compliance.

The County Attorney is also responsible for advising employees and elected officials in matters of County business, legal matters, resolutions, cases, ordinances, statues and regulations. The County Attorney is also responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts, land records, lease documents, policy analysis and much more.
