What type rooms are available?
We offer three different accommodations to our residents: Semi private rooms (two residents share a room and bathroom), private rooms with a shared bathroom and private rooms with private bathroom.
How often does the doctor visit residents?
Physician visits occur at least every 30 days for the first 90 days after admissions, then every 60 days thereafter. Physicians will see residents with a need on other occasions also.
Who are attending physicians?
Residents may choose the physician of choice from the physicians currently accredited to provide medical services in our community. If their preferred physician is not currently credentialed , they are welcome to apply for privileges with Bedford County Nursing Home.
Is there a Beauty/Barber Shop available?
A licensed cosmetologist is available to provide for residents needs.
The Bedford County Nursing Home has a long, rich history woven into the fabric of the Community. We can trace our toots back to 1831 when the Nursing Home originally started as the County Poor Farm. Today, 90 Residents are living their best lives with long term care support services among an engaged and service orientated Team. Our unique design centers around an beautiful interior courtyard and bird watching. We are located adjacent to Falling Creek Park an have views of the Peaks of Otter. The Resident rooms are extra spacious and boast of a European bathroom. Therapy services are offered by Select Rehab. We are members of the American Health Care Association and Virginia Health Care Association.
