All Parks and Recreation Basketball games are cancelled for Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Effective immediately, Bedford County Parks and Recreation is canceling all programs, activities, trips, and reservations through June 10th based on the Governor’s recent “Stay at Home” order. This is a disappointing measure for all of us but it is necessary in order to remain in compliance with the state’s guidance and to fulfill our mission. We hope these measures will be lifted prior to June 10th, but that remains to be seen. Please stay tuned and check our Facebook page frequently as we plan to immediately roll out recreational opportunities as the situation allows. Full refunds or credits will be issued for all cancelations and staff will call each spring sports athletic participant. Please allow 2-4 weeks for the refund check to be mailed if you elect to receive a refund. If you registered with Boonsboro or the Forest Youth Athletic Association please contact their Association Supervisor for more information. Boonsboro – Shawn Deaner – 434-942-1603 FYAA – Shannon Ellis - 434-525-6866. All registrations, rentals, reservations, and payments continue to be suspended until further notice. As soon as this action is reversed, updated information will be put on Facebook, and our Bedford County Parks and Recreation website. Please be sure to monitor those sites so you know when normal operations will resume. In an effort to protect the public and Bedford County employees from the potential spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Falling Creek Center remains closed until further notice. We are still available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm by phone at 540-586-7682. Parks and open spaces can be used at your own risk, but we would like to emphasize that they should be used for passive recreation, and that organized group activities are not allowed. Additionally, the skatepark, restrooms, shelters, and playgrounds at our parks will remain closed until further notice.
