ATTENTION VOTER: Important Information regarding Absentee Voting for the 2019 General Election Begins Friday


Public Notice:  Please take note that at the Board of Supervisors regular meeting on October 21, 2019 has been rescheduled for October 28, 2019, beginning at 7:00 pm; a work session beginning at 5:00 pm has been added that night as well.  Both meetings will be held in the Boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA.


Public Notice: Please take notice the Board of Supervisors has added a Worksession on October 28, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the boardroom of the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 E. Main Street, Bedford, VA for a presentation regarding the Smith Mountain Lake Center and a discussion regarding CAD RMS software.  (The Regular Meeting already scheduled for the same evening at 7:00 pm will still be held as well.)

Public Notice: Please take note the Board of Supervisors November 7, 2019 CIP work session with the School Board has been moved to November 14, 2019, beginning at 5:00 pm. This meeting will be held in the Ground Floor Meeting Room of the Bedford County Administration Building, 122 E. Main St., Bedford, VA.

The entire list of Board meetings for the remainder of the year is as follows:

  • October            28th        Work session at 5:00 pm; Regular Meeting at 7:00 pm (both meetings will be in the Boardroom) (moved from 10/21)
  • November       14th      (Thursday) CIP Work Session with School Board– beginning at 5:00 pm (moved from 11/7)
  •                         25th       Regular Meeting

December        9th        Regular Meeting (Work Session 5:00 to 6:30 pm)

Bedford County Adopt-A-Highway

adopthighwayThe Solid Waste Department adopted a 2-mile stretch of roadway on Va. 43 and participates in the cleanup of this roadway 2-4 times a year. Bedford County and the Bedford VDOT Residency Office are working together to educate Bedford residents on the Adopt A Highway program. There are many roadways in Bedford County that have not been adopted, but are in need of volunteers to help with cleanup.
