The Bedford County 911 Center and the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office are offering a unique opportunity to begin a career in law enforcement immediately after high school through the Headset to Badge program.

At 18 years old, you can become a Bedford County dispatcher, a role that provides valuable hands-on experience in emergency services and serves as an excellent foundation for a future in law enforcement. At age 21, qualified dispatchers can apply to become law enforcement officers.

Starting as a dispatcher shows commitment to public service, builds essential skills, and gives candidates a competitive edge when applying to the police academy or other law enforcement positions.
