Bedford County’s External Agency Funding Program is designed to assist outside agencies and charitable organizations with funding that will benefit the citizens of Bedford County. 

For funding effective July 1, requests must be submitted no later than December 31 to be considered during the County’s budget process. 

Repeat requests will be considered but do not guarantee funding as budget criteria and emphasis may change from year to year. 

Agencies requesting funding from Bedford County must:

1. Provide a copy of the most recent financial audit, audit committee letter, management letter and response, or a report on the approved Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP). The audit/AUP must be performed by a currently licensed certified public accountant in conformity with auditing standards generally accepted in the U.S.
2. If prior year funding was provided by Bedford County, agencies must submit information on how prior year funding was used by the organization to benefit the citizens of Bedford County.
3. Identify the amount of the funding request and how and where the assistance from the County will be used (i.e., sponsorship for an event, funds for a specific expenditure such as utilities, etc.)
4. Provide the number of County community members serviced in the current year and anticipated in the funding year.
5. Provide a Statement of Executives paid over $100K.
