Bedford County, Virginia is on a renewed mission to focus on the health and overall wellness of employees.

Here are a few ways we prioritize wellness in our organization:

On-site Educational Opportunities: We offer voluntary Lunch & Learn sessions approximately once a month that focus on a range of wellness topics.

Employee Wellness Day: Each spring, we invite local health-focused vendors to the County Administration building to share their offerings and services with employees. This day also includes Biometric blood screenings, Centra's mammography van, nutritional lunch and learns and more! 

Flu Shot Clinics: Employees have the opportunity to get their annual flu shot at the County Administration building each year.

With 21 departments spread out across numerous buildings in our region, employee engagement is a top priority. We offer numerous ways for employees to connect with one another and grow as a team, including:

• Annual Employee Appreciation Event
• Participation Incentives

Bedford County employees have the opportunity to come together voluntarily for training sessions or presentations during their lunch hour. Lunch is often provided by a sponsor. 

These "Lunch & Learn" events bring employees together from across departments in an informal atmosphere to collaborate, learn, and develop relationships.
