Concealed Handgun Permits

New Applicants & Renewals

  • Applicants must reside in Bedford County or Town of Bedford.
  • Complete the Concealed Handgun Application.
  • Provide proof of certification of in-person handgun competency or copy of current concealed handgun permit.
  • A $15 filing fee (plus current postage) is required upon submission of application and is payable by cash, check, money order or credit card.
    • All credit card transactions will include a $2.00 surcharge. Checks can be made payable to Clerk of Court.
  • All first-time applicants must appear in person with a valid photo I.D. and proof of in-person firearms training or current hunting license.
  • Renewal applications may be provided in person or mailed with a copy of a valid photo I.D. and a copy of the applicant’s current permit.
    • Renewals can be mailed to the Bedford County Circuit Court Clerk's Office at 123 E. Main St., Suite 201, Bedford, VA 24523.
