The Bedford County Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2016 has been cancelled.

The next meeting of the Planning Commission will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Boardroom of the County Administration Building 122 E. Main Street Bedford, Va.

Virginia Broadband Survey  Lacking broadband coverage or just want better coverage? The Governor wants to know! Governor McAuliffe announced today a new statewide initiative to better understand where Virginia has the largest gaps in broadband coverage. The new initiative, RUOnlineVA, provides a platform for Virginia residents and businesses to notify the Commonwealth whether or not they have access to broadband Internet connections. Please take the survey at http://ruonline.virginia.gov/broadbandsurvey/survey/ruonline/

Public Notice: Please take notice that the Bedford County Board of Supervisors will attend a facility tour of the new Registrar’s Office on September 26th, 2016 at 6:00 pm. They will meet at the new office located at the Bedford Central Library, 321 N. Bridge St., Bedford, VA. The Board will then attend its regular meeting scheduled for 7:00 pm the same evening in the Boardroom of the County Administration Building

Invitation to Bid Reroofing of Bedford Central Library

Bedford County, Virginia is soliciting sealed bids for reroofing of the Bedford Central Library. The library is located at 321 North Bridge Street, Bedford, VA.

This project consists of the removal of the existing EPDM roof system including roof insulation down to the existing metal roof deck, roof and equipment flashing, coping and roof drains.

Interested contractors should plan to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting to be held at the Bedford Central Library, Upstairs Conference Room, on Tuesday August 16th at 2:00 p.m.

Bids are due by Friday, August 26th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 East Main Street, Suite 202, Bedford, VA 24523 and must be marked “Bedford Central Library Reroofing."

Bedford County, Virginia is soliciting proposals from Architectural & Engineering firms for:

• A&E Services for a new branch library for the Montvale community

• A&E Services for renovations to repurpose the County's former Nursing Home.

The successful firms must demonstrate proven skills and technical competence in the design of similar facilities. Offerors may submit on either or both projects. The County may elect to award both projects to one firm or may elect to award the projects to two firms.

Proposals are due by Friday, August 26th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bedford County Administration Office, 122 East Main Street, Suite 202, Bedford, VA 24523 and must be marked “A&E Services - New Branch Library & Former Nursing Home." Read More>>
